About the Job:
LFS Financial Systems is looking for a Senior Microfinance Manager. S/he will be responsible for either lending or operations and ensuring high professional standards are maintained throughout the bank.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Managing, developing, and training a team of local staff and developing products and procedures;
- Represent the bank in the local community, establish and maintain effective working relationships with shareholders, creditors and local authorities, and identify growth opportunities for the bank;
- Report to LFS and the bank’s management board and apply the LFS approach to micro and small business finance.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Economics, Business or finance-related subject
- At least 5 years of experience in a bank, credit or MFI, with exposure to SME, corporate or retail banking;
- Experience in a managerial role including overall bank management, with evidence of strong managerial skills and ability to develop the skills of others;
- Knowledge of commercial microfinance approaches and best-practice microlending technologies in developing or transition countries;
- Interest in a long-term career in the field of micro and SME finance, and work experience in developing or transition economies, preferably in a start-up situation;
- Proficiency in English and either Brazilian Portuguese, French or Russian.
