Access to Finance is a program which aims to make sustainable improvements in the livelihoods of poor people in rural areas of Zambia by increasing the percentage of people financially included as well as assisting the financial sector in delivering a wider range of financial services to more people and businesses in rural Zambia.
About the Job:
DAI is looking for a Rural Finance Expert – Access to Finance to support financial inclusion activities of the program.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Advice and support the financial inclusion strategy and activities to provide of wide access to financial services, for savings, affordable microcredit, payments, remittances, and insurance, enabling the poor to better withstand shocks, build assets to improve their livelihoods, and pay for basic services such as healthcare and education;
- Design and implement mobilization strategies of finance for investment and productive purposes, including finance for SMEs, and stimulating growth and job creation to benefit the poor;
- Support the promotion of strong financial sector regulation and supervision, essential for promoting and maintaining favorable economic and social conditions domestically and internationally.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in finance, accounting or a comparable field;
- At least 10 years of experience within the private sector development;
- Minimum of 7 years experience in rural finance;
- Strong experience in SME finance, microfinance, and innovative finance mechanisms;
- Long term experience in the management of financial accounting and reporting systems for donor aid programs;
- Previous long term working experience in Africa, preferably Zambia.
