About the Job:
WVI is looking for a Regional Finance Manager – World Vision South Sudan (WVSS). S/he will support the finance director to develop, implement, and perform national office (NO), grant financial management, accounting and budgetary functions for World Vision South Sudan. S/he will report technically and administratively to the finance director and regional program manager respectively.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Participate and lead the regional team in all finance aspects;
  • Carry out grant finance related assignments and responsibilities as delegated by the finance director;
  • Coordinate financial activities to ensure compliance with donor and WVSS policy requirements;
  • Preparation of annual operating budgets in conjunction with appropriate program and project staff;
  • Be a key player in the issues of grants accounting and management to ensure full compliance with WVI internal and donor requirements;
  • Practice standard financial systems including implementation of good internal controls, asset monitoring, and reconciliation of all funds accounts;
  • Ensure proper grant documentation such as signed agreements, approved budgets, grant amendments are maintained at all times;
  • Provide timely and accurate grant financial reports for submitting to donors and support offices within the required time schedule;
  • Respond to respective queries in relation grants reports from donors, support offices auditors, and internal WVSS management;
  • Co-ordinate and review project budget development (proposal, grant, and matches) between the grant accountants, program, and the operation teams;
  • Review and analyze grant expenses while using the same as a monitoring tool to advise the stakeholders on expenditure trends.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance/Accounting or other similar qualification, Chartered Accountant/CPA/ACCA;
  • Minimum of 5 year accounting experience preferable in the NGO/humanitarian sector;
  • Previous grant accounting and budget preparation experience is required;
  • Requires knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, and practical knowledge of financial systems and internal financial controls and procedures;
  • Requires good communication skills (oral and written);
  • Superior Knowledge of Sunsystem.
