About the Organization:
The MicroLoan Foundation is a microfinance charity working in Malawi and Zambia. It provides microfinance and training to groups of rural women, helping them to start small businesses and work their way out of poverty.
About the Job:
The MicroLoan Foundation is looking for a Programmes Intern to support its head office team in London for 6 months (3-5 days per week). S/he will be reporting to the operations manager.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provide monthly review and analysis of performance reports from Malawi and Zambia and input into the development/update of reporting template;
- Provide updates to branch and regional manager reporting templates;
- Provide performance data to external organizations (such as MixMarket and Microfinance Transparency);
- Support the preparatory work for upcoming regulatory changes in Malawi;
- Support finance processes and reconciliations;
- Collate and analyze information to provide to the fundraising team;
- Support development of client training database;
- Support development of social performance reporting templates;
- Complete other research and ad hoc projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level;
- High level of numeracy;
- Strong knowledge of Excel and use of formulae (knowledge of Access is a plus);
- Strong research and analysis skills;
- Demonstrable use of initiative;
- Strong statistical analysis skills;
- Interest in international development issues;
- Experience of living and working in Africa.
