About the Organization:
World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) is the global trade association and development agency for credit unions. WOCCU promotes the sustainable development of credit unions and other financial cooperatives around the world to empower people through access to high quality and affordable financial services. WOCCU advocates on behalf of the global credit union system before international organizations and works with national governments to improve legislation and regulation.

About the Job:
WOCCU is looking for a Program Specialist. Under general supervision of the program manager s/he will provide support to home and field offices to ensure quality implementation of international development programs and compliance with donor requirements, participate in the development of project proposals to generate new business, and provide general administrative support to the DC office.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Program implementation support: Coordination, tracking, filing, formatting, editing, compliance, and basic accounting;
  • Project proposal development: Outlining, team coordinating, formatting, technical editing, and word processing;
  • Administrative support: File and correspondence management, meeting logistics, and overall office support.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in preparing proposals;
  • Experience in international development with donor or other development agencies providing financial, technical or developmental assistance;
  • Familiarity with the credit union system;
  • Knowledge of US government and/or international donor regulations (e.g. USAID, World Bank);
  • Fluency in another language, preferably French;
  • Experience in a multi-cultural setting or living and/or working in a developing country.
