About the Job: 
CGAP is looking for a Microfinance Specialist. S/he will serve as a core member of the CGAP donors and investors team. S/he will participate in other corporate and CGAP sub-groups as may be needed. S/he will be an important team member who will help shape CGAP’s work with donors on accountability systems and the creation of knowledge products around this and other areas of CGAP research.

Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) and at least 5 years of analytical/research experience in finance, economics, development or related area;
- Strong analytical background, familiar with statistical analysis software and database management tools;
- Strong organizational/project coordination skills;
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, deal with conflicting priorities and deliver high quality work on schedule;
- Sound knowledge of international microfinance good practices, current debates in microfinance, and CGAP’s research, role and interventions in the industry. Familiarity with capital markets development a strong plus;
- Ability to engage with various stakeholders, effective influencing skills and demonstrated diplomacy;
- Independent judgment and ability to influence, and develop consensus on difficult and controversial issues, balancing multiple stakeholder expectations and objectives;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Language preferences: English (essential), desired: French, Arabic, Spanish.
