About the Organization:
PlaNet Finance China (PFC) is the representative office in Beijing of the international NGO, PlaNet Finance. PFC is dedicated to poverty alleviation through the development of the Chinese microfinance industry. It provides technical assistance and consulting services to the microfinance and banking sector and engages in Microfinance Plus projects with a focus on issues such as rural development, healthcare, renewable energy and job training.
About the Job:
PlaNet Finance is currently implementing consulting and technical assistance to Chinese banks and MFIs. PFC is looking for Microfinance Bank Consultants (Junior and Experienced Consultants) to be staffed on these projects in the field in China.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Exposure to consulting and technical assistance to banks and MFIs;
- Exposure to training bank/MFI staff, conducting risk assessments, developing microfinance lending methodologies, and setting up and developing microfinance operations of clients;
- Support the team in project tasks such as coordination, research, report writing, and translation of various documents (both CHàEN and ENàCH);
- Provide support to local and international experts.
Qualifications:
- University degree, preferably in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or business related field;
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of previous work experience is preferable;
- Fluent Chinese (English fluency a plus);
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to deliver consulting assignments;
- Interest in poverty alleviation, microfinance, and China’s development;
- Highly analytical, responsible, motivated, and able to work independently;
- Strong communication skills and teamwork skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.
