About the Job:
AFC Consultants International is looking for a Junior Expert – Microfinance. S/he will be responsible for advising the organization on the design of vocational training programs for professionals and managers of banks and MFIs.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Support for the expansion of the portfolio of savings cooperatives for trustworthy save as provision;
- Advice on the expansion of lending to farms and other SMEs (financing of value chains);
- Support for the achievement of component 3 (cross-border economic relations) by improving the access of small and medium enterprises to markets in neighboring countries, especially in the north of the country;
- Coordinating with other projects of the German and international development cooperation;
- Support the program director at the joint impact monitoring and on knowledge management;
- Support program management for project advancement with partners;
- Coordination of all plans and benefit packages with the AV and the GIZ office in Dushanbe.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Economics/Business Administration or its equivalent;
- Experience in the areas of microfinance/financial services and experience in another area such as private sector development, local and regional economic development or rural development;
- Minimum 2 years of experience in development cooperation;
- should be familiar with developing new credit products for micro and small enterprises;
- Familiarity with establishing the savings business in a financial institution with the focus on micro and small customers – MIS systems in financial institutions;
- Prior work experience in the region would mean an strong asset;
- Language: Russian and English are essential, German an asset.
