About the Organization:


The International Transactions Clinic of the University of Michigan Law School is the first of its kind in the United States, was started in 2008. It offers students the opportunity to acquire skills that are critically important to their professional development as they enter into practice areas that involve international transactions. The International Transactions Clinic has a diverse range of clients which include for-profit and not-for-profit entities, start-up enterprises, financial institutions, and MFIs.

About the Job:


The University of Michigan Law School is looking for an ITC Director/Clinical Assistant Professor to teach in the International Transactions Clinic.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a J.D. degree and be eligible for licensure through the State Bar of Michigan;
  • At least 7 to 10 years international transactional expertise, particularly in structuring and negotiating transactions for enterprises and investors that operate in emerging markets;
  • Some experience in negotiating and structuring cross-border investment transactions for social enterprises;
  • Familiarity with policy and regulatory issues facing impact investors;
  • Demonstrable ability to attract clients that share the social justice values of the International Transactions Clinic;
  • Foreign language skills;
  • International work experience;
  • Clinical or other legal teaching experience.
