About the Job:
Accion International is looking for an Intern – Investing in Inclusive Finance Program Coordination. S/he will be engaged in all aspects of the program area, working on a variety of different projects focused around investing in microfinance. The Intern will engage and interact with various industry players including fund managers, industry risk and governance experts, industry thought leaders, and board representatives.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day coordination of the governance working group, a 26-member group that aims to bring together leading experts and initiatives to address the challenge of improving governance in the industry, including support for fundraising, communications, publications, and meetings;
- Coordinate volunteer teams working virtually on a variety of financial inclusion projects. Outline the scope and goals for each project, coordinate virtual meetings among volunteers, and guide the projects through from inception to completion;
- Provide research and support in the execution of roundtables, workshops and trainings, developing materials, and assisting with the event logistics and planning, communicating with facilitators, and participants;
- Assist the Investing in Inclusive Finance team in program-related research and writing;
- Lead the effort of blogging, newsletter development, and website maintenance for Investing in Inclusive Finance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree;
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities;
- Ability to self-prioritize and multitask;
- Excellent project management and planning skills;
- Ability to take initiative on projects and work well in both a team and independently;
- Experience with fundraising and grant writing a plus;
- Knowledge of investment vehicles and funds a plus;
- Fluency in multiple languages a plus.
