About the Organization:
Friends-International (FI) is a social enterprise that works with marginalized urban children and youth, their families, and communities to become productive, independent citizens of their country. It has been assisting marginalized urban children and youth across the world since 1994. It runs and supports projects for these children and their families in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Indonesia, Honduras, Mexico, Egypt, and Myanmar.
About the Job:
Friends-International is looking for a Income Generating Projects Coordinator. S/he will assist all FI and partners programs to implement and develop home-based production projects and microenterprises for families€™' projects.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Support the home-based production (HBP) team leaders and microenterprise (ME) team leaders to manage, improve, and expand their projects;
- Train program staff on all aspect of the projects related to HBP and ME;
- Support staff specifically in coordinating the production and quality control procedures, including the delivery of skills and business training curriculums;
- Actively take part in and contribute input/ideas to the product development process coordinated by sales and marketing team;
- Monitor the projects with support of the HBP/ME teams;
- Research potential ME solutions and encourage sharing of lessons learned among microentrepreneurs/ME programs;
- Participate in the development of proposals, reports, evaluations, and budgets.
Qualifications:
- University degree in social studies, development topics, business/economics, production or fashion/design;
- Several years of work experience, in either social or commercial context, basic exposure to market-oriented situation (small production, sale of products or services etc.);
- Project management and budget monitoring, understanding of social projects, and context of living/working in poverty;
- Sound analytical skills, high level of creativity, strong communication skills, high cultural sensitivity, interest in/ideally experience in working with simple production skills (sewing, screen printing, working with recycled material etc.);
- Proficiency in MS Office products;
- Fluent in English, Khmer desirable but not a must.
