FUNDRAISING INTERN

Job Description


The Prague Security Studies Institute in Washington, DC (PSSI), an international non-profit think tank specializing in security policy, is seeking an outgoing, organized Grants/Fundraising Intern to assist with fundraising efforts through written solicitations, research of prospective donors and assisting in the oversight of fundraising efforts from initial contact through completion.

As an intern you will be helping our small core team raise the funds to sponsor and manage unique and compelling conferences that attract senior current and former government officials from all over the world, extend the reach and capability of our Prague-based educational programs for undergraduate and graduate students, and expand our programmatic activities in Washington, DC. As a boutique think tank, everyone’s voice is heard, and your opinions will be welcomed.

The fall internship is 16 weeks in length and runs between September and December. Dates are flexible.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist with researching prospective donors and organizing grant submissions
• Compile database of prospective funding sources
• Research grant compliance and eligibility
• Initiate fundraising process
• Follow up on grants and fundraising applications and/or relationship-building
• Other jobs may be assigned as need arises

Qualifications



• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential
• Professional interest in the area of fundraising and NGOs more broadly
• Excellent research skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel computer programs
