About the Organization:
The Aga Khan Agency for Microfinance (AKAM) is a member of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) which is a group of development agencies, institutions, and programs established by Aga Khan. The common goal of these agencies is to combat problems of social and economic development and to help the poor achieve a level of self-reliance sufficient to plan their own livelihoods.

Background
In 2005, AKAM established the First Microfinance Foundation Egypt to alleviate poverty and generate economic growth. As a locally-managed lending institution it aims to foster entrepreneurial activity, especially for women in underprivileged neighborhoods. Its operations are governed by principles of long-term sustainability and financial discipline. The Foundation extends credit mainly for income generating loans to micro and small enterprises, but also provides social loans for housing rehabilitation, education, health care and family emergencies.

About the Job:
The First Microfinance Foundation is looking for a Finance and Administration Manager. S/he will be responsible for establishing and implementing short and long range financial and accounting goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships and negotiate terms with banks, financial institutions, and insurance providers for smooth flow of funds and services;
  • Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, departments' budgets, salary updates ledger and accounts maintenance and data entry;
  • Ensure that the finance activities will support the foundation in pursuing its mission with a minimum risk and a maximum of efficiency;
  • Manage and monitor donor funding to ensure timely expenditure of donor funds and adherence with donor regulations. Ensuring compliance with donor funding agreement and reporting requirements;
  • Manage the development, implementation and monitoring of an effective administrative operation that maximizes the use of fiscal resources to provide measurable, timely, efficient and cost-effective results;
  • Perform quality and timely financial, MIS, and other analytical reporting for the management, CEO, board, shareholders, and government authorities.

 

Qualifications:

  • MBA in Finance or Accounting, and/or Business Administration or any other relative certificate;
  • At least 10 years of experience in financial banking management. Hands-on experience in banking would be an asset;
  • Ablility to develop the financial policies and procedures and to perform quality and timely financial, MIS and other analytical reporting for the management, board, and shareholders;
  • High level of proficiency in writing and reporting skills and the capacity to design procedures;
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English language;
  • Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
