About the Organization:
The Centre for Financial Regulation and Inclusion (Cenfri) is a non-profit think-tank based in Cape Town, South Africa that operates in collaboration with universities in the region. Cenfri's mission is to support financial sector development and financial inclusion through facilitating better regulation and market provision of financial services. It conducts research, provides advice, and develops capacity building programs for regulators, market players, and other parties operating in the low-income market.
Background
The ILO's Microinsurance Innovation Facility is partnering with Cenfri to faciliate innovation, with the objective of using applied research to support insurers or insurance channels in identifying the required disruptive innovations which will enable microinsurance to reach scale on a sustainable basis.
About the Job:
Cenfri is looking for a Fellow. S/he will support the partners by designing action research frameworks for assessing the impact of agreed interventions from product development to launch.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Design action research agendas to guide the innovation lab partners;
- Support the development of research activities necessary to inform product development, use of communication, and marketing;
- Support the analysis of insurance offering using available tools and frameworks to understand various aspects of the insurance decision;
- Provide and monitor piloting metrics, product assessments, marketing, and other technical assistance to monitor and evaluate products over time;
- Documenting key lessons to share with the Cenfri Innovation Lab.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Masters, MBA or equivalent) in a relevant subject to conducting applied research;
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in insurance industry (or related industry), preferably in a market research and/or product design role;
- Experience in working in a team environment;
- Work/travel experience in developing countries;
- Good knowledge of English.
