The IAIS is the leading standard-setter in the area of financial inclusion as laid out by the G20.
About the Job:
The Access to Insurance Initiative is looking for an Executive Director. S/he will manage and guide the secretariat and take responsibility for general, comprehensive project management in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organization.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Developing the strategy, work plans, operating procedures, administrative, and financial management;
- Adequate project and budget management, as well as fund raising for core, regional, and global activities;
- Support organization's governance and decision-making structures;
- Working with partners of the organization in planning and overseeing the implementation of national, regional, and global projects;
- Initiate and oversee the development of tools and methodologies, regional, and global synthesis and knowledge products on regulation, supervision, and of access to insurance;
- Represent the Initiative and liaise with a large variety of sponsors, funding partners, and relevant organizations from the insurance and development ambit;
- Organize global/regional south-south dialogue, and peer learning and other dissemination events;
- Responsible for delivering periodic activity reporting to partners and ensuring compliance with financial reporting and auditing requirements.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Economics or similar and many years of professional experience;
- Experience in insurance and supervision, regulation and policy in insurance, as well as in financial sector development in support of financial inclusion in the insurance sphere;
- Should have a history of successful fundraising from the international donor and private sector communities;
- Strong organizational and personnel management and leadership skills, as well as strong analytical skills;
- Very good written and spoken English. German language skills are an asset.
