MFX Solutions, Inc. is a company set up by microfinance funds and foundations to help the industry understand and manage currency and interest rate risk. It provides currency hedging, training, and analytical tools designed to help microfinance lenders safely manage balance sheet risk and gain access to new sources of funding. MFX’€™s technical assistance division provides training to MFIs on asset-liability management, borrowing strategy, and hedging using sophisticated decision support tools. About the Job:
MFX is looking for an Education Intern to assist in the expansion of its technical assistance program into Francophone countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. S/he would primarily be focused on the development and translation of Francophone training materials in the areas of asset/liability management (ALM), financial risk management, and foreign currency hedging which will be used to deliver trainings to senior MFI executives in a variety of delivery channels including seminars and 1-2 week consulting engagements. This internship is able to be carried out either within the MFX headquarters in Washington, DC or on a remote basis. The Education Intern will report to the director of technical assistance.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Translate training materials and project documents from English to French;
- Identify gaps and strengthen training materials and project documents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Business/Finance/Accounting (CA/ACCA/CPA/CFA/Masters degree in business, finance, accounting, international, linguistics);
- Written and spoken fluency in French and English required;
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team;
- Detail oriented, efficient, and able to promptly meet deadlines.
