About the Job:
FINCA International is currently looking for a Director of Development – Fundraising. S/he will be in-charge of supervising and managing FINCA International's fundraising unit to meet the annual fundraising targets. In addition, s/he will lead the prospecting, stewardship, cultivation, and day-to-day management of FINCA boards including FINCA International's advisory board, as well as FINCA Canada's and FINCA UK's advisory boards.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Strategic planning (15%);
- Management of all fundraising programs (50%);
- Direct and e-marketing program (15%);
- Board stewardship and management (10%);
- Unit management (10%).
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in international affairs, business, economics, finance, or equivalent work experience;
- Thorough understanding of microfinance, micro-enterprise, and international development;
- At least 10 years of fundraising experience;
- At least 5 years of management experience;
- Project management experience;
- Experience with strategic and operational planning;
- Technical skills including business planning, financial analysis, technical project design (log frame), proposal writing, budgeting;
- Comprehensive knowledge of international and domestic donor environment, including USAID, USDA, multilateral and European aid organizations, development banks, foundations, corporations, PVOs, socially responsible investors, and major, medium, and small donors;
- Experience coordinating special events;
- Experience with direct and e-marketing a plus;
- Experience working with USAID;
- Knowledge of development institutions;
- Experience in project design and proposal writing;
- Comprehensive knowledge of major gift fundraising methodologies and strong ability to design and implement strategic approach to fundraising and program development;
- Field experience a plus;
- Strong network of personal contacts and ability to extend this network extensively;
- Bilingual: English-Spanish, English-Arabic or English-Russian is a plus;
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 20% of total time).
