About the Organization:
Child and Youth Finance International (CYFI) works to empower all children and youth across the world, especially those who are poor and marginalized, by increasing their financial capability, enhancing their awareness of social, and economic rights. It stresses the importance of early financial education of a high standard supported by a financial system that promotes access to safe and transparent financial products and services for children and youth.

About the Job:
CYFI is looking for a Director. S/he will be responsible for day to day management of the organization. S/he will ensure that the different organizational departments remain on target and will be closely involved with the operations and financials. The Director will also ensure that the organizational communications are to the highest possible standard.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the managing director to ensure that Child and Youth Finance is being represented in international arenas and that CYFI is being raised as a topic in the agenda of key global institutions;
  • Ensure that CYFI is being a constant advocate for financial literacy and inclusion around the globe through speaking engagements;
  • Ensure that energy and momentum for continued global, target orientated roll-out of the program is maintained;
  • Ensure that adequate funding for the short, medium, and long term for the secretariat and its partners is in place.

Qualifications:

  • Should have a Master’s degree;
  • More than 15 years of experience in a professional environment in a broad set of roles including executive and management responsibilities. A mix of both NGO and private sector experience will be preferred. An affinity with financial inclusion and financial, social, and livelihoods education topics;
  • Be comfortable interacting with the supervisory board and other high-level international stakeholders at a strategic and conceptual level while being sufficient hands-on to be a real team player in a relative small organization;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, additional languages would be considered an asset;
  • Able to effectively build, lead, and manage a team of driven professionals with various levels of experience;
  • Competent in leading strategy and business plan development processes and ability to translate strategic objectives in specific action plans.
