About the Organization:
The cooperative society ALTERFIN was founded in 1994. It is a form of cooperation between north south organizations, financial institutions, social organizations, some companies, and private individuals. ALTERFIN invests in MFIs and associations of fair trade producers in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. These organizations for their part grant credits to small farmers and entrepreneurs in the South.
About the Job:
ALTERFIN is looking for a Credit Manager – Africa. S/he will be responsible for the management of loans to specific partners (clients) in Africa.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Prospecting partners (clients) in Africa;
- Carry out financial and social due diligence visits of the partners;
- Drawing up the credit file;
- Presenting the credit file to the credit committee;
- Preparing all legal documents to facilitate disbursement;
- Monitoring partners and their loans;
- Managing partner data and reports.
Qualifications:
- University degree or equivalent in Financial Management, Economics, Law or other relevant field;
- Well-proven experience of credit-management;
- Knowledge of microfinance and value chain finance;
- Expertise in the analysis of social and financial performance;
- Fluent in French and English. Knowledge of Portuguese and/or Dutch is an advantage;
- Prepared to travel regularly in Africa.
