About the Job:
FINCA International is looking for candidates for its Credit Apprenticeship Program (CAP). This program will offer a unique opportunity for the candidate to enter into the microfinance sector as a loan officer-in-training with exposure to all aspects of operations from loan origination to branch management. The duration of this program is 6 months, renewable until 9 months. The apprenticeship requires self-funding, a small stipend will be provided to help offset living expenses.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Work directly with Finca's clients;
- Participate in projects aligned with various institutional priorities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent and 1 to 2 years of work experience;
- Previous field experience in developing countries required, preferably in the region of assignment;
- Study/initial work experience in the microfinance, finance and/or development fields highly desirable;
- Strong commitment to microfinance;
- Teamwork skills and respect for cultural differences;
- Leadership skills and experience in an academic and/or professional setting;
- High proficiency (fluency preferred) in French and English required.
