About the Organization:


Pro Mujer is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) whose mission is to support Latin American women living in poverty to build better futures for themselves and their families through microfinance, business skills, and health care support. Pro Mujer leads the microfinance industry in addressing the poorest segment’s multiple needs and in pioneering creative solutions to build awareness and demand for health services. It also provides access to basic healthcare and health promotion and prevention education.

About the Job:


Pro Mujer is looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). S/he will be central member of the senior leadership team and will provide leadership, input, and influence across the organization. S/he will directly manage a finance team of five in New York and functionally manage the five finance directors and their team in country (Argentina, Bolivia, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Peru). The CFO will serve as the point person for the board of directors’ finance and audit committees, as well as manage the country MFI finance managers and investors.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Investment management: Work closely with the CEO, board of directors, country directors, and finance managers to develop recommendations regarding asset portfolio construction;
  • Financial reporting: Work with the senior leadership team, committees, and the board of directors to ensure their financial reporting needs are met. Provide regular communication with staff, investors, professional advisors, and other key stakeholders regarding investment practices and performance;
  • Financial management: Lead the finance team, instilling a client-service approach to providing support to staff. Oversee accounting, treasury, and risk management practices as well as ensuring production of audited financial statements, tax returns, and regulatory compliance;
  • Budgeting and planning: Develop long-range forecasts and operating plans linked to the organization’s strategic plan.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required. An advanced degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred;
  • Minimum 15 years of related work experience in relevant positions of increasing scope and responsibility;
  • Proven experience of working for an international organization or company in a similar capacity;
  • Written and oral Spanish fluency is required.
