About the Organization:
Pro Mujer is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) whose mission is to support Latin American women living in poverty to build better futures for themselves and their families through microfinance, business skills, and health care support. Pro Mujer leads the microfinance industry in addressing the poorest segment’s multiple needs and in pioneering creative solutions to build awareness and demand for health services. It also provides access to basic healthcare and health promotion and prevention education.
About the Job:
Pro Mujer is looking for a Chief Financial Officer. S/he will report to the the CEO and will provide leadership, input, and influence across the entire organization. S/he will be a central, contributing member of the senior leadership team.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the CEO, board of directors, country directors, and finance managers to develop recommendations regarding asset portfolio construction including: country and currency risk, credit monitoring, and debt management;
- Work with the senior leadership team, committees, and the board of directors to ensure their financial reporting needs are met;
- Work closely with staff to create and manage budgets and projections, as well as develop long-range forecasts and operating plans linked to the organization’s strategic plan.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required. An advanced degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred;
- Minimum of 15 years related work experience in relevant positions of increasing scope and responsibility;
- Senior management experience in finance/accounting, lending, investor relations, and possess Latin American experience. Ideally, s/he should have some exposure to microcredit lending;
- Written and oral Spanish fluency is required.
