About the Organization:
Micro Pension Foundation is a not for profit organization set up to engage in policy formulation, research, implementation planning, capacity building, and design payments solutions. The foundation aims to develop, field-test, and mainstream innovative, technology-led solutions to provide low income individuals, and especially the unbanked population, with convenient and affordable access to a secure, cashless payments mechanism that would enable them to frequently transmit micro-savings directly to regulated pension, savings and insurance product providers.
About the Job:
Micro Pension Foundation is looking for a Behavioral Economics Analyst. With more research showing that when it comes to financial matters people might not always take rational decisions, it has become necessary to find what factors govern the financial choices people make in their day to day lives. The Behavior Economics Analyst will find out these triggers by various methodologies to help cultivate a savings behavior in people.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Research on what drives people, what are they thinking while making their everyday, long term financial decisions;
- Analyze the portfolios of the concerned segment to reach conclusions about the way people perceive various financial products;
- Observe, learn, and accurately document various findings of the projects, analyze the findings and present it in a report format so that they can be used by policy makers and various stakeholders for further research or implementation;
- Conduct behavioral intervention pilots based on the report suggestions, observe, learn, and incorporate changes in the plan if any;
- Update the research findings on the Micro Pension Foundation blog;
- Utilize individual skill sets to complete special projects for the foundation as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Masters in Economics/Psychology/Finance;
- Experience in development research required;
- Excellent analytical skills;
- Working knowledge of statistical tools like SPSS, Stata;
- High degree of flexibility, self-motivation, and problem solving abilities.
