The Access to Insurance Initiative is a global partnership that works with insurance supervisors with the goal of increasing access to insurance markets, particularly for the low-income population.
About the Job:
GIZ is looking for an Advisor – Access to Insurance Initiative Project Manager. S/he will be responsible to perform projects of the Initiative that will advance the shared agenda of the Initiative and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) on financial inclusion.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the development of training modules on inclusive insurance markets as part of the IAIS training curriculum;
- Participate in a multi-country diagnostic synthesis project to extract learning;
- Participate in the creation of Access to Insurance Initiative (A2ii) and IAIS tools;
- Contribute to guidance and application papers on policy, regulation, and supervision of inclusive insurance markets, consumer protection, and other topics;
- Lead the creation of training and other tools for supervisors;
- Provide on-going coordination with IAIS committees on financial inclusion matters;
- Contribute to the G20 financial inclusion process and its work with financial standard setting bodies;
- Participate in the joint working group of the IAIS and Microinsurance Network and foster linkages with that group.
Qualifications:
- Professional experience in economic science, administration, finance, insurance or similar fields;
- At least 10 years of professional experience;
- At least 3 years of experience in international development topics;
- Good knowledge of and experience with insurance and regulation, supervision and policy of insurance, and/or microinsurance;
- Strong project management and analytical skills;
- Strong interpersonal, communication, networking, and cross-cultural skills;
- Proficiency in spoken and written English;
- Previous engagement with the IAIS is preferred.
