About the Organization:
Started as a research program at Harvard's center for international development, the Entrepreneurial Finance Lab (EFL) aims to unleash the entrepreneurial potential of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the developing world through better-targeted investment. It works in partnership with the Entrepreneurial Finance Lab Research Initiative at Harvard’s Center for International Development, which is the home of EFL’s research into the impact of psychometric tools on access to finance, entrepreneurial training and skills, and experimental alternative financial contracts. EFL's mission is to accelerate SME sector growth by providing commercial banks, intergovernmental organizations, and impact investors with technology that measures risk and potential among the un/under banked.
About the Job:
EFL is looking for an Entrepreneurial Finance Lab Fall Intern to engage him/her with projects across a broad spectrum of EFL responsibilities.
Tasks and Responsibilities:

Examples of the types of projects that an intern will be assigned:
- Research a new emerging market and present findings to the teams about the characteristics of unbanked populations, the landscape of financing providers & recommendations for EFL;
- Produce and assemble the complex documentation needed for the appendices of a contract with a large international financial institution;
- Create marketing collateral to explain EFL’s complex products to new stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Rising seniors or recent graduates with less than 3 years of work experience preferred;
- Can-do attitude and an entrepreneurial nature;
- Ability and willingness to manage many kinds of projects at once;
- Experience in emerging markets and knowledge of foreign languages is a plus;
- Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and internet research is a must;
- Interns will need to bring their own laptop.
