About the Job:
FINCA International is currently looking for an Executive Initiatives Intern – Fall 2012. S/he will be working closely with staff and will support the executive office across a number of priority initiatives.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze best practices in the microfinance industry;
- Monitor and summarize news within and related to the microfinance industry;
- Support FINCA’s internal policy development process, including researching, drafting, updating and disseminating FINCA policies for subsidiaries;
- Support the development of the subsidiary strategic overviews;
- Logistically and technically support high priority executive office projects;
- Assist with miscellaneous administrative tasks;
- Other special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- MBA or Graduate Program candidate (highly qualified undergraduate seniors may also apply);
- Fluency in a second language is highly desirable: Spanish, French, Russian, Arabic or Dari are preferred;
- Excellent communication skills, especially writing and editing;
- Exceptional research skills and experience with major research project, thesis, etc.;
- Qualitative and quantitative analysis skills;
- Extensive computer skills (specifically, intermediate Excel proficiency and experience with Visio highly desirable);
- Interest in and knowledge of microfinance, finance and development issues;
- International experience is beneficial.
