About the Job:
WWB is looking for RFQ: Data Quality Researcher/Writer to support the development of a data quality paper, under the WWB gender performance initiative. The Consultant will produce a 4-8 pages of this paper, discussing research findings, and making recommendations that can be incorporated throughout the sector. This is a 6-8 week consultancy, running from mid-August to the end of September 2012.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Review data and analysis from 3 pilot sites;
- Research use of data, both within the microfinance sector and in the private sector (business intelligence);

Research data quality challenges in the microfinance sector, including:
- Challenges getting accurate information from clients;
- Challenges consistently inputting data into information systems;
- Challenges communicating the importance of data to staff;
- Challenges around detecting data quality issues.
- Research proposed solutions to data quality issues, including both operational and technological solutions;
- Interview key stakeholders for insight on data quality;
- Write a 4 to 8 page data quality paper.
Qualifications:
- Proven research and writing skills;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in microfinance or financial services;
- Experience in data evaluation, and understanding of data quality testing;
- Strong quantitative background (statistics, econometrics, or data analytics background preferred);
- Proven understanding of gender dynamics, as related to research and data;
- Advanced degree required.
