Access to Finance is a program which aims to make sustainable improvements in the livelihoods of poor people in rural areas of Zambia by increasing the percentage of people financially included as well as assisting the financial sector in delivering a wider range of financial services to more people and businesses in rural Zambia.
About the Job:
DAI is looking for a Gender Expert – Access to Finance to support the financial inclusion and economic empowerment of women, and achieve both the gender equality and poverty reduction objectives of the program.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the team to successfully implement the gender focus strategy across the program;
- Lead the coordination for the initial gathering and analyzing of gender data, and conduct programmed surveys and assessments among targeted women’s groups;
- Integrate the gender focus in the program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) strategy, including developing verifiable indicators to monitor the impact of the program on women participants and training the local M&E assistant on gathering information for these indicators;
- Act as an advocate for women's participation through frequent dialogue with program staff, women clients, and government officials;
- Serve as a liaison between women clients and other programs to the benefit of those.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in related field;
- Demonstrable experience in integrating gender into Access to Finance or similar programs;
- Experience designing appropriate interventions to meet project goals in assisting women and the disadvantaged;
- Experience working with international donor-funded projects, international non-governmental organizations on relevant programs in increasing economic growth, employment, and incomes;
- Strong skill set in reporting, monitoring, and evaluation;
- Experience working with donors such as DFID, UNDP, World Bank;
- Experience of leading teams of consultants on development assignments;
- Experience in working in Zambia will be a distinct advantage.
