Access to Finance is a program which aims to make sustainable improvements in the livelihoods of poor people in rural areas of Zambia by increasing the percentage of people financially included as well assisting the financial sector in delivering a wider range of financial services to more people and businesses in rural Zambia.

 

About the Job:


DAI is looking for a Grants Expert – Access to Finance. S/he will be responsible for establishing robust and transparent grants procedures, including the development of a grants manual and other tools as required.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Support the assessment of the financial, grants management, and administrative capacity of grantees;
  • Support the on-going assessment of performance delivery of grantees against project objectives;
  • Guide grantees in formulating their proposals according to DFID guidelines;
  • Provide other support to the team effort as requested by team leader;
  • Contribute to efforts in meeting donor reporting requirements as well as reporting to DAI Europe home office.

 

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in finance, business administration, public administration, economics, or other relevant field;
  • At least 10 years experience in grant management and development of grant mechanisms;
  • Excellent experience establishing and managing grants programs;
  • Long-term experience working with DFID and/or other international donors;
  • Experience working in Zambia and/or Southern Africa;
  • Strong skill set in reporting, finance, and monitoring and evaluation;
  • Understanding of Zambian value chains would be a distinct advantage.
