About the Organization:
MicroVentures is an international network of companies investing in MFIs operating in selected emerging countries of Asia and Latin America. In India, the network operates through the Bangalore-based NBFC MV Microfin Private Limited (MicroVentures India). It provides debt to Indian MFIs, along with advisory services and ground support to other MicroVenture companies for the management of equity investments in the Country.
About the Job:
MicroVentures is looking for a Director/Chief Executive offiecr (CEO). S/he will be responsible for providing strategic and operational direction to the team. S/he will ensure the effective management of the direct investment portfolio as well as the provision of high quality advisory services.
Tasks and Responsibilities:

Governance, administration, strategic, and financial planning:
- Represent on the board of the company. Manage board meetings and general meetings;
- Manage the relationship with HQ and contribute to the strategic development of MicroVentures' initiatives;
- Manage financial planning and funding activities;
- Ensure legal compliances (RBI, ROC, other governmental agencies);
- Manage relationship with auditors and other key service providers;
- Supervise administration and accounting.

Debt investment management:
- Manage existing investment portfolio (according to policies and strategy defined at Board level);
- Regularly scout the microfinance market to build and deliver a relevant pipeline of new opportunities;
- Appraise new opportunities for debt investments;
- Negotiate deals with the potential clients;
- Define the investment case, prepare and present written investment recommendations to the board;
- Prepare and review legal documents and ensure proper execution of investments;
- Ensure proper monitoring of investments during their entire holding period and regularly report to the board and stakeholders about client’s developments;
- Manage credit recovery process in case of delinquency.

Equity advisory services:
- Regularly monitor the microfinance market and regulation and provide written updates to HQ;
- Ensure proper monitoring of investments during their entire holding period and regularly report to HQ;
- Provide on ground service to assist HQ in the execution of new deals or to manage divestment process;
- As required, provide directorship service on the boards of MicroVentures’ investees.
Qualifications:
- Accounts and Finance background is a must, MBA degree preferred;
- Minimum 7 years of experience in microfinance;
- Experience of debt lending to MFIs/equity investment management/credit ratings;
- Strong financial and analytical skills;
- Superior writing and communication skills;
- Knowledge of Indian Company Law is a must, knowledge of legal requirements of MF-NBFC is preferred;
- Managerial experience and ability to lead team is preferred;
- Superior accountability, commitment, initiative, problem solving capabilities, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task;
- Willingness to travel for work assignments;
- Strong computer skills;
- Fluent in English and Hindi.
