PlaNet Finance is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the development of microfinance through the provision of technical assistance and consulting services to the microfinance and banking sector. PlaNet Finance develops and animates networks of MFIs, experts, and local actors in order to support the development of men and women professional projects.
About the Job:
PlaNet Finance (PF) is looking for a Microfinance Project Officer. S/he will be part of the Egypt team, and will have responsibilities for projects related to microfinance and microenterprise. S/he will act as a microfinance trainer/expert for the organization.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Project officer:
- Coordinating and supervising the implementation of the project activities;
- Ensuring effective partnerships with financial institutions, microfinance NGOs, banks etc.;
- Coordinating with PF other offices in the region and PF Group entities;
- Ensuring respect of internal as well as donors’ procedures in project implementation;
- Participating to the draft of deliverables in collaboration with other microfinance senior experts;
- Participating to financial and technical reporting for the donor;
- Monitoring the project expenditures according to the budget and produce the financial reporting;
- Contributing to local communication actions linked to the project;
- Organizing and participating to different project committees;
- Updating reporting linked to activities.
- Microfinance trainer/expert in one or more of the following areas:
- Provide training, coaching and workshop facilitation for field staff and management staff of MFIs in product development, financial analysis, business planning, financial education, training of trainers;
- Build local partners capacities in innovative financial services: savings, insurance, rural loans, housing loans as well as the development of new credit offerings such as clean energy and educational finance;
- Provide coaching and training to micro entrepreneurs: business and management trainings, financial education.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in microfinance and project management;
- Master in Economics, Finance, or related fields;
- Fluency in English and Arabic – ability to work in both languages (both written and spoken);
- Candidates with operational experience in microfinance will be preferred;
- Strong organization and analytical skills;
- Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written, oral/presentation) for internal and external reporting;
- Ability to operate in a cross-cultural working environment;
- Ability to travel within Egypt and the region (around 25% of the time).
