About the Job:
VisionFund is seeking a Debt Funding and Corporate Finance Manager to work with the global funding director on coordinating the debt funding of VFI and the MFIs. The incumbent will be working with the MFI’s and the finance department to forecast funds requirements and working with internal groups to coordinate review and approval processes of borrowings. S/he will support the global funding director in arranging for debt financing and where necessary hedging mechanisms and transactions to ensure MFIs receive funding on time at the best rate. This role also coordinates the process of review and signs-off of third party funding arrangements and contracts for local MFI funding not passing through VFI. Close relations and coordination with WV Treasury are required to ensure efficient funds transfer and lowest cost funding is achieved.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination of the global debt funding activities among the MFIs;
  • Analysis of funding projections and coordinating the process of the MFI borrowings between the MFIs and VFI;
  • Perform initial review of loan agreements and monitor the MFI compliance with various lenders covenants;
  • Coordinate with the MFI finance managers as needed and act as the liaison between lenders and MFIs to expedite the borrowing process;
  • Research new lenders and various funding facilities in the market and prepare lender briefs as needed;
  • Research new funding options and coordinate the due diligence process with the lenders and the MFIs;
  • Assist the global funding director in managing the global banking relationships for VFI and the MFIs;
  • Assist the global funding and corporate finance director in merger and acquisition activity as well as in in equity participation deals;
  • Monitor the borrowing activities of the MFIs and their compliance with internal requirements of leverage ratios and borrowing limits;
  • Provide periodic analysis reports supporting the global funding activities;
  • Participate in providing a full support to the MFIs with regard to capital market activities and borrowings;
  • Liaison with VFI finance to develop funding projections and develop various reporting requirements for the VFI Board;
  • Responsible for the administration and maintenance of the MFI borrowing database and any other database supporting the global markets activities;
  • Track and report on debt funding for VFI and MFIs via the repayment schedule;
  • Coordinate the review and approval process of MFI third party borrowing transactions;
  • Support the debt fundraising activities of VFI and the marketing efforts for debt products by developing product concepts, documentation, legal contractual framework, and guidelines;
  • Responsible for providing necessary analysis and research supporting the various global funding projects and initiatives;
  • Liaison with various internal groups within VFI and WVI to ensure adequate and efficient review process if NFI borrowings;
  • Attendance at weekly chapel and devotions;
  • Carry out additional responsibilities and projects as assigned, including administrative and planning function.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business or Finance (advanced graduate degree is preferred);
  • About 3-5 years of experience in credit analysis and management, microfinance lending, and debt management experience preferably with a microfinance banking institute/asset manager;
  • Familiar with legal documentation of borrowing contracts and banking contractual agreements;
  • Strong finance, written and oral presentation skills, plus good grasp of international accounting principles;
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills, particularly in the area of capital markets instruments and financial risk management (derivatives, foreign exchange etc.);
  • International experience a definite asset, particularly in emerging/developing markets;
  • Licensed to sell securities in the EU or in USA and familiar with securities law and regulations is highly desirable;
  • Familiarity with International Accounting Standards;
  • Quantitative analysis with excellent command of Excel and spreadsheets;
  • Fluency in English required, Spanish a plus;
  • Good communication and influence skills in both oral and written forms;
  • Must be able to simultaneously manage multiple priorities and projects;
  • Must be cross culturally sensitive as will work with associates from every area of the world;
  • Flexibility on hours to contact people within wide time zone differences is required.

    • Sets own priorities within group and organizational goals.
