Project Coordinator

Free Press Unlimited and Center IbnRochd are looking for a Project Coordinator to run the StoryMaker project

Duration: 6-12 months

Salary: DOE (Depending on Experience)

Background

StoryMaker is an open source mobile training project with the aim of helping citizen journalists, traditional journalists, bloggers and activists tell better multimedia stories through their mobile phones. The core of the project is a mobile application called StoryMaker.

The project consists of targeted trainings focused on teaching citizen journalists, traditional journalists, bloggers and activists the technical know-how of using Android mobile phones, how to use the StoryMaker app to improve their storytelling and basics in video, photo, audio, security and journalism.

Responsibilities

The Coordinator will report to Free Press Unlimiteds Project Officer based in Amsterdam. He/She will be responsible for managing the StoryMaker project. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Recruiting participants and traines
• Interviewing participants and trainers
• Selecting participants and trainers with FPU´s project officer
• Facilitating communication with trainers and participants
• Troubleshooting and testing StoryMaker app
• Participating at least 2 times a month on the weekly call with developers and FPU staff (the call discusses latest news on the StoryMaker app)
• Communicating all aspects of the project to FPU´s project officer
• Preparing quarterly narrative and financial progress reports
• Keeping track of finances and expenses

Qualifications

• At least three years experience managing international projects
• Experience in media and journalism
• Experience in multimedia and new technology
• Excellent communicator
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good judgment
• Good writer
• Live in Rabat, Morocco
